Actor Idris Elba teams up with Australian indie rock band Lime Cordiale to release new single

Idris Elba, the British actor best known for his roles in Luther, Beasts of No Nation and Thor, has teamed up with Australian indie alt rock band Lime Cordiale to release a new single.

The team up, officially titled Cordi Elba, today released their debut single "Apple Crumble". The song was recorded earlier this year while Elba was in Australia filming upcoming Marvel film Thor: Love and Thunder. In addition to the new song, Cordi Elba have announced they will be releasing a mini-album expected to drop January 14th 2022.

Back in March Elba joined Lime Cordiale in performing onstage at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney.

This isn't Elba's first foray into music. He's previously worked as a DJ/producer/singer/rapper and has released several remixes and original songs. He also played a struggling DJ in the 2019 Netflix series Turn Up Charlie. Elba was most recently seen on screen as Bloodsport in DC's The Suicide Squad.
